Bruce Owen Martineau age 76 of Rome went home to be with his heavenly father on April 20, 2013.



Mr. Martineau was born June 23, 1936 in Constable N.Y. to Noah and Ida Green Martineau. He served in the Navy, worked on the railroad, at Revere and retired from his own excavating business. He was very proud of the fact that he had lived on the family homestead in Rome for 71 years.



Bruce loved the Lord, was an avid hunter and liked watching the birds and enjoying a big bowl of his wife's pasta.



Bruce was united in marriage to Laura Mae Gleasman the love of his life and his soul mate on August 23, 1985; a blessed union of 27 years.



He is survived by his wife Laura and four sons, Mark (Michael), Utica, Luke (Marla),Taberg, James (Jennifer), Ohio, Michael (Suim), Maryland and three daughters Lesa (Perry) Franfarillo, Lee Center, Robin Crespin and Amy (Albert) McLeish, Rome, two sisters Betty Flagg, Pennsylvania, Mary Ulrick ,Florida. One brother, John Martineau, Camden. Six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. mother and father in law Mae

and Paul Smith, Rome. Two brother in laws, George W. Gleasman Jr., Rome, Douglas W. ( Lucia) Gleasman, Clinton.



Bruce was predeceased by his parents, brothers Robert and Richard, sister, Wanda and father in law, George W. Gleasman Sr.



The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut St.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 8 PM



Donations may be made in his memory to the Regional Cancer Center 1676 Sunset Ave. Utica, N.Y. 13502.
