View Tribute Book Billie Jo Hildenbrandt, age 60, of Taberg, passed away peacefully at Wynn Hospital, on January 5, 2024, with her loving family at her side.She was born November 29, 1963 in Rome, a daughter of the late Joseph Megerell and Darlene Underwood.  Billie Jo was united in marriage to James B. Hildenbrandt, Sr., on July 10, 2004, in Melbourne, FL; he died on October 21, 2023.  She was a former manager at Marshall’s in Rome.Billie Jo’s life revolved around her family.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.Billie Jo is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Jennifer and Randy Smith and Cassandra and Rusty Smith, all of Taberg; mother and step-father, Darlene and Pete Newey; step-children, Sarah Hildenbrandt of Rome, Angelline Hildenbrandt of Taberg, James B. Hildenbrandt, Jr of Taberg and Christopher Hildenbrandt of Rome; a sister and brother in law, Kelli and Tim Metott of Camden; a brother and sister in law, Ken and Sarah Megerell of Taberg; grandchildren, Hailee and Cody Proper, Randy Jr, and Annie Smith, and Zackery, Aidden, Dalton, Cody,  and Elexis Smith; and great grandchildren, Raelynn, Carter and Levi and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the staff of Wynn Hospital Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit for their care, compassion and friendship extended to Billie Jo, and a special thank you to Rev. Becky for her prayers and blessings offered to Billie Jo and the family.The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM.
