Beverly K. Annis Town of Western



Beverly K. Annis, age 73, of the Town of Western, passed away March 31, 2014, at her home.



She was born December 30, 1940, in Utica, a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Lee Vaeth. She graduated from Rome Free Academy and the MVCC Nursing Program. Beverly was united in marriage to Donald J. Annis, on June 25, 1960, in St. Joseph's Church; he died October 18, 2009. She formerly worked as a Registered Nurse at Marcy Correctional Facility and Rome Memorial Hospital until her retirement.



Beverly was an active member of the Western American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed playing in the Legion's "Pitch" league. She also loved being at home and working in her gardens, cooking for her family, crocheting, sewing and doing other crafts.



Beverly is survived by her daughter, Jill Christina House of Westernville; grandchildren, Anthony James House and Mandee Suzanne House; great grandchildren, Chandler Don Havener, Ethan James Stieringer and Alexys Lynn Stieringer; a cousin, Becky Floreszy of Maryland; a lifelong special friend, Rose Anna Tanner, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Linda Neidner-Bayliss.



The funeral service will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in the spring in Westernville Cemetery.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service.



Memorial contributions may be made to the family or the Western American Legion.
