Arlean Rachel "Fountain" Gowett

Arlean Rachel Gowett, age 82, of Rome, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2017 at Bethany Gardens.



Arlean was born in Rome on March 21, 1935 to the late George and Sarah Barone Fountain. She was educated in the Rome schools. She was united in marriage to Frank P. Gowett on November 2, 1958 in Saranac Lake; a blessed union of 51 years until his passing on November 5, 2009.



Arlean is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Dale and Gerald McGowen of Rome, and Donnell and Harry Holzclaw of NE; three sons and a daughter in law, Frank Gowett Sr. of Marcy, Mark Gowett of NC, and Terry and Martha Gowett of Ill.; nine grandchildren, David, Wendy, Jesse, Tina, Gerald Jr., Frank Jr., Peter, Marta, and Rachel; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Campfield of FL; and a brother and sister in law, Arthur and Fran Fountain of Rome. She was predeceased by a brother, George J. Fountain.



Funeral services will be private.



Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
