Alma M. Cable, age 95, of Taberg, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility.
Alma was born in Rome on November 1, 1930, to the late Herman and Anna Healy Rapke, and graduated from RFA with the class of 1947. She was united in marriage to Norman K. Cable until his passing on July 19, 1992. While she raised her family, she also worked as a waitress at the Pine Hill Inn and Jet Cleaners. She went back to school and earned her medical receptionist degree. She worked and retired from the Rome Podiatry Group.
Alma enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing bingo, card, watching SU basketball, and her flower gardens. She volunteered for many years as a Twig at Rome Hospital. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Lee United Methodist Church since she was a child.
Alma is survived by her two sons, Eugene (Lynn) Hardy and Norman Cable; her two daughters, Marilyn Theriault and Elaine (Lawrence) Fox; her nine grandchildren, Alan (Selva) Theriault, John Hardy, Dennis (Sandra) Theriault, Lori (Brent) Scott, Melissa Sullivan, Trisha (Joe) Bordage, Tracy (Kendrick) Morrison, Sheree (Chris) Patterson, and Katie (Cory) Bliss; her eleven great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Leslie W. Hardy; her brother, Harold Rapke; her sister, Doris Newey; and son in law, Paul Theriault.
Alma's funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 3 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be on May 6, 2026, at Lee State Road Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 3 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lee Community Church (formerly Lee United Methodist Church) and/or the Taberg Fire Department.
