Alice M. "Burton" Smith

Alice M. Smith, age 91, of Rome, passed away peacefully March 29, 2012.



She was born July 17, 1920, in the Town of Lee, a daughter of Burton M. and Alethia Rounds Howard, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1938. Alice was united in marriage to Myron W. Smith, in 1941 in Rome; he died June 29, 1992. She was a former member of the Lee Center United Methodist Church.



Alice is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Carolyn and Walter Bialobreski of Chittenango, NY, and Julie Dempsey and Joe Gibilaro of Martinsburg, W. VA; three sons and daughters in law, Gerald and Ethelyn Smith of Breesport, NY, William and Sue Smith of Camden, NY, and Myron and Irene Smith of Cleveland, NY; and many grand and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jay Smith and two brothers.



The funeral service will be held Monday at 6:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Lee Valley Cemetery.
