Alonzo "Spike" R. Johnson, age 63, passed away peacefully at home on February 4, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
Spike was born in Rome on January 31, 1962, to the late George and Merlia Pugh Johnson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1991. On June 13, 2024, he was united in marriage to the former Catherine Williams.
Spike was an adventure seeker who enjoyed motorcycle rides, boating, and snowmobiling. As a skilled artist, he excelled in tattooing and drawing. His kind heart was demonstrated through his generosity, frequently treating others to dinner without their knowledge. Spikes authenticity was reflected in his genuine nature. A passionate dog lover, he showered his dog, Dixie, with love and attention. He was honest, straightforward, a provider, and protector.
Spike is survived by the love of his life, Cathy; two sons; one daughter; several grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother. He was predeceased by his sister.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Burial with military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
