Robert John Cronk, Jr., age 62, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home May 8, 2015, with his loving family at his side.



He was born December 30, 1952, in Liberty, NY, a son of Robert J. and Virginia Sidaway Cronk. Robert was united in marriage to the former Sharon Hulbert. He served as a lieutenant

in the NYS Department of Corrections at the Midstate Correctional Facility, retiring in 2014, after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist.



Robert's life always revolved around his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed the sport of fishing.



Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon; his mother, Virginia of Liberty, NY; children, Robert K. and Nadia Cronk of Tampa, FL, Brooke and Robert Kopek of Rome, Denise Wright of Michigan and Sandy Ceravolo of Michigan, Scot Ceravolo and fiance´e Kim Meadows of Frederick, MD, and Frank Ceravolo of Michigan; two sisters and brothers in law, Patty and Kim DeVoe of Liberty, NY, and Linda and G. Michael Smith of Biloxi, MS; a brother and sister in law, Tom and Beth Cronk of Liberty, NY; and grandchildren, Frank Ceravolo, Jr., Colin Wright, Paige Wright, Nicolas Ceravolo, Drew Kopek, Danielle Kopek, Melissa Giodano and Aaron Leaton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Robert J. Cronk, Sr.



A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday at 11 AM, at the Church of St. John the Baptist, with Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio, officiating.



Relatives and friends may call Friday, at the Church of St. John the Baptist, from 10:15 AM to 11 AM, prior to the funeral service.



Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care.
