Brenda Lee Mellace, age 54, of Rome, by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, went home to heaven on February 10, 2018.
She was born July 30, 1963, in Rome a daughter of David and Mary Lou Link Hoehn. She graduated from Rome Free Academy, SUNY Oswego and earned her Master's Degree in Education at SUNY Cortland. Brenda Lee was united in marriage to Frank Mellace, Jr., on August 27, 1988, in St. Mary of the Assumption Church. She worked for many years as a math teacher at Staley Junior High School, retiring due to illness. She was a member of the Rome Christian Center.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Frank; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Mellace of Rome; two sons, Frank "Cic" Mellace and Michael David Mellace, both of Rome; her father, David Hoehn of Rome; mother in law and father in law, Raffaelina and Frank Mellace of Rome; two sisters and brothers in law, Bonnie and Gerry Orlando of Syracuse, and Linda and Ken Engelbert of Doylestown, PA. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Lou Hoehn.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Rome Christian Center, 7985 Turin Road. Burial will be in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Tuesday, from 4 to 8 PM.
